POST—MATTER is a multidisciplinary design studio and archive of the work of Adele Zavagno. She is a designer based in Northern Italy who works with local and discarded materials merging the worlds of textiles and biodesign.

Graduated from a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Fashion Design from Politecnico di Milano, she spent a semester in Copenhagen as an exchange student in 2022. Throughout the university and work periods she started her own practice, culminated in the publication of her research thesis on upcycling as a design strategy. After graduating in 2023 she worked for 3 years as industrial designer in the field of luxury leather goods.

She enrolled in The Material Way international program in 2025, focusing on local and bio-based materials. Biomemory project was the outcome of this program and was showcased during London Design Festival in 2025.

She collaborates with fellow creatives and artists, such as in the POST—MATTER x Julinko collaboration, where the designer and the singer-songwriter have joined forces to create garments for live performances.

The combination of an academic and industrial background, together with the participation at The Material Way, have pushed her towards a research-oriented practice. Her design approach is open and participated, focusing on solving real needs in a more-than-human context.

Adele will continue her design research as an artist-in-residence at ARE Holland from August to October 2026.
