January to September 2025

Biomemory is a material research project that explores the intersection of biodegradable functionality, poetic storytelling, and ecological ritual. Using bioplastics made from local plants, bark, seeds, and roots gathered in the landscape of San Daniele del Friuli (Italy), the project creates a series of ritualistic artifacts designed to honor, archive, and activate the living memory of the land. These materials are intentionally impermanent: they dissolve over time, leaving behind growth, pollination, or fertilization, and thus engage in a performative process of decay and renewal. Functioning as seed carriers or pollinator attractants, the materials are activated through direct contact with soil, water, and fauna. At the same time, each piece embodies a poetic reconstruction of place — echoing the textures, colors, and rhythms of the local landscape, herbal knowledge, and seasonal changes.
